The Department of Social Services (DSS) is one of the leading Government Departments of People's Republic of Bangladesh under the Ministry of Social Welfare.

                The Department of Social Services was established in 1961. Initially the activities of this department was urban community based and services orianted. In the course of time the activities of this department has been extended to the grass root level. The department of Social Services (DSS) under the Ministry of Social Welfare is working to ensure social protection and social safety nets of the poor vulnerable people, and socio-Economic Development for the vulnerable aged persons, the persons with disabilities, Orphans, Children at Risk and helpless Persons.

                District Social Services Office, Feni under the Department of Social Services (DSS) is implimenting different types of Programmes, such as Allowance for the Aged Persons, Allowonce for the Finacially insolvent disable persons, Educational stipend for the disabled students, honorarium for the Freedom Fighters, Special Allowonce for the Bede and disadvantaged Community, Interest free Micro-Cradit for the poor people, capitation grant for the Orphans and skill Development Trainning for the Youths.
